C7 transport of animals. Transportation of animals by S7

I'll start right away with the fact that this is my very first flight, and until this April Fool's Day, I had not even seen the building of our airport. And not only ours. Therefore, this will be a review of a naive teapot with all my cockroaches, impartiality and the results of an hour and a half flight.

After some thought, I decided to divide my review into two blocks.

The first one is for the curious. This is a story about the flight itself, as it were, in general and as a whole. Lots of text.

The second is essentially the title. I'll tell you about the flight with an animal aircraft of this airline in key positions.

So, the story of one flight! Block one!

So, as already said, I don't fly. Why I didn’t sokil, why I don’t lita - it seems that in childhood I saw the text of such a song. I traveled all my life exclusively by land transport, but friendship with him, though very ambiguous. I am terribly seasick, so enemy inventions such as a bus (Ikarus - the airline of my childhood), a trolleybus, a car - were endowed with a hated look of hopelessness. But I love the railway with the devoted love of a person who does not get sick in trains and trains. The question is, what did the juice carry on the plane? Well, a tear of tenderness is needed here - the cat made me. .

The fact is that we are moving to another city for an as yet indefinite period of time (well, I, as the wife of a Decembrist, go where I need to go, I don’t resist), and the most important question arose about transporting our mobile woolen station. Well, what to do with the beast? To give someone a hand does not rise at all, and the husband was categorically against it, although both mothers chewed with their lips, they say, there are so many troubles with transporting it, put it somewhere, give it to someone, and then take yourself a new one ... .

Well, no, the downy girl is ours, we will not do that, we will take her with us. And then a direct question arose - how? Where to shove this nevpihuemoe?

What am I? There is an experience of trips to St. Petersburg in both summer and winter - zero problems, but a cat! We were worried about the animal, for which all this would be a huge stress, because she did not move from home further than the veterinarian. In the end, we decided that 2 hours of stress is better than 22. Therefore, we fly by plane! I say, "Jesse, we have 2 hours of fear with you and we are there."

S7 Airlines (hereinafter - S7) was chosen by us primarily because "they flew" to Domodedovo, and not to Sheremetyevo, like, for example, Aeroflot. This was the main principle of choosing a carrier. We needed a route Volgograd - Moscow, Domodedovo airport.

Now, when you leave yourself, what do you do? Buy tickets and pack your suitcase. My ticket included hand luggage of 10 kg and one (!) bag with a weight limit of up to 23 kg (oh, how I cram it in there) Who's done? - I'm done. But we have the main load on 4 paws - and it cannot formalize itself.

How to arrange travel for an animal?

Having studied the site, I ended up booking my ticket by phone. Submitted a request to transport an animal. "A cat, the weight together with the container does not exceed 8 kg" - an expense item, so to speak. They said to call back in an hour to find out if confirmation was received on my request.

Yes, - the girl on the line answered me later, - the request was confirmed.

I have to arrive at the airport already with the cat, I will have to pay for her travel there, on the spot. There is a "ticket" for Jessie - 2500 rubles. The animal must have a passport, all vaccinations - made no later than a month before departure - and a certificate from a veterinarian with permission to fly (issued 3-5 days before departure).

Here we thought about the main thing. We thought, how will the cat go? In the salon with me? On your knees? We climbed to study the S7 website, then I even called the hotline.

And then a mountain of information fell on us.

So, you want to transport your pet with the S7 in the cabin? Well, how do you leave your beloved Murzik, Tuzik - if he is the size of Murzik, or the parrot Kesha in a dark and scary luggage compartment? Then get ready:

*** The weight of the animal in the place with the cage must not exceed 8 kg.

OK. - we thought at this point - our girl doesn’t even have three, won’t the cell weigh 5 kilos?

*** cage height should not exceed 20 cm!!

Then we wondered if she would get tired of lying down, because what kind of cat can be pushed into 20 cm of height? Only lying down. Fell - wrung out. I tried to measure Jessie with a ruler, she huddled in horror in a corner and looked from there with frightened eyes. I'm afraid to think if she watched films about the Wild West ... Well, when there was an undertaker with a tape measure running before every fight. In general, it was already clear that at 20 cm in height she could hardly climb.

*** In this case, the animal in the cage must be able to stand upright and turn 360 degrees.

So, it turns out that in 20 cm of the required height, only a hamster or a guinea pig can stand and turn. At best, a small kitten. But not a cat, even if not very large.

Why exactly 20 cm - you ask? Why not 23 cm?

Because, as they explained to me, in the cabin the cage with the animal is placed under the chair in front and nothing else. You understand, even if you have 23 cm, it will no longer fit. =====> luggage compartment of the aircraft. On the hotline, I was assured that on the occasion of the trip of the animal in the luggage compartment, the latter will be heated and we don’t have to worry that the cat will freeze.

*** Animal cage should be hard, not soft!

*** Well, the final requirements - the bottom of the container in which the animal will travel must be covered with absorbent absorbent material, which excludes the passage of moisture.

So it all looked official.

Having familiarized ourselves with all these requirements, we realized one thing - according to them, our girl cannot be taken in the cabin. Only in the luggage compartment, having previously bought a special container. In the pet store, we were offered a choice of three "airplane" cages, essentially differing only in size. We took the average for 1300 rubles. We bought special napkins to lay them on the bottom of the cage.

Jessie did not particularly like the booth, she did not want to go into it further than her front paws.

3 days before departure, we went to the veterinarian for an appointment and they gave us a letterhead with a hologram that the clever and beautiful woman is "ready to move in space." Please note that such a certificate is also paid. It cost us about 300 rubles.

And then came the day of ICS. Flight 1164 of airline S7.

In two hours, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in my person arrived at the airport))) No offense to those will be said, but I felt like a native from the distant Zhukh valley, and really appreciated the charm of all the signs like "entrance / exit / toilet / escalator" , because in shock and jitters, I vaguely understood what I generally needed to do now. At the same time, more than a week before departure, there was almost a nervous breakdown, I moved out of the old apartment almost alone (since my husband had already left earlier), then Jessie and I lived for several days with my mother, where my little animal was chased by a respectable "Aunt Maha". (pictured is Aunt Maha)

I didn’t like Jessie’s booth, she screamed and struggled when I shoved her there, crumpled all the napkins and scraped the walls with her claws, my heart bled ... But she calmed down in a taxi and even deigned to look out the window. But after the veterinary control, she even happily, in my opinion, climbed into the cage, they say, it's safer there. And close the door!

At the airport, we immediately visited the veterinary control room with her, stamped on our certificate, at registration they gave me a piece of paper, according to which I paid Jesse's transportation at the box office and the cage with the cats was taken away from me, saying that someone's cat was already in the cabin rides. They glued "figovina" on the cage and put it on the tape for oversized luggage. The beast left in an unknown direction, and I was left to wait for the announcement of boarding the flight.

There was another one sitting with me in the waiting room, the same cat with her owner! In a similar cell! And with a tag on the container "hand luggage"!! According to the guy who drove her, he booked a ticket a month in advance and confirmed several times that the cat was traveling in the cabin. He carried her on his knees, although the official information indicated that this could not be done.

In a word - the rules are the rules, in fact everything is different, which was what was required to be proved. In fact, no one measured the height of the cage, so...

Well, here all the photos are taken on my phone, which is not intended for photo shoots, but I had to capture it! Photos in flight were taken on him. The quality is appropriate.

We took off on time, no delay, well, I don't count three minutes. The travel time turned out to be even slightly less than stated on the official website and in my e-ticket.

I immediately told the flight attendants that I was flying for the first time and I might feel sick. They immediately brought paper bags to me just in case, then in flight one came up and asked about my well-being.

I ate the offered bun in flight. White bread, thin piece of chicken fillet, tomato and mayonnaise. I don't know, I was hungry and ate it without looking back. Tasty, tasteless, I don’t know, everything suited me hungry.

All garbage, food packaging, cups were removed immediately, passing through the cabin, they did not make you wait.

Upon arrival at Domobabovo ... Domovnukovo ... ugh, Domodedovo ... I received - kirdyk - my bag with luggage, and Jesse was brought on a cart a little later and put himself there in a corner near the tape of the armored conveyor, like, take it to anyone . The cat's eyes were scared, but I expected the worst, so...

In a taxi to Serpukhov, she even took a nap. But I got seasick (Yes, to Serpukhov, but what did you think, I bought a mansion in the center of Moscow on the salary from Airek? No, only a mansion in Serpukhov)

I understand that I'm judging the airline by just one flight, a short one, but so far I can't find fault with it. The site is convenient and understandable, it is easy to book tickets, in your personal account you can directly manage your ticket, buy additional tickets. luggage and more. You can pay for the ticket by card and even webmoney)). Our luggage was not lost, the cat arrived in order, no one was rude or rude. The flight attendants are generally very polite, everything is clear and understandable on the hotline, the operators are great, the planes are cheerful, green))) Summer)))

Only now I will know that, in principle, transporting a cat on my knees in the cabin is real. No one will measure the cell in essence

Block two. For those interested.

So, in order to take an animal on an S7 flight, you need to

Leave a request for the transportation of an animal by calling the hotline and then receive confirmation that the transportation is allowed. It will be only in the words of the operator, but if anything, the conversations are recorded.

Buy a hard cage, soft ones are not allowed for some reason

Get vaccinated at least one month before departure date.

In 3-5 days, get a certificate of departure from the veterinary clinic.

Before check-in, visit the airport veterinary control

The rules strictly say that the height of the cage with the animal should not be more than 20 cm - if you want to carry it in the cabin. Otherwise, the animal travels in luggage. But, as I saw, one cat was traveling with the owner in the cabin with a cage 30 centimeters high.

So, as always, it is written on paper, but there are ravines)))

I won't give five stars for a number of reasons. And again - I would fly more often, but the four are confident and from the heart. A little fear and I'm there.

Ah, how did the cat endure the trip? Yes, it's gorgeous, but what, we were going somewhere?

Thanks for reading!

Remembering how old I am today, I was frightened - No, well, I can’t be so old!!! I need to get my passport...

Pets often travel with their owners. When transporting them by bus or rail transport, there are no problems. But how are dogs transported on an airplane? Rules for the transportation of these animals have been established.

Can you take a dog on a plane

Air carriers do not impose bans on the transportation of pets. They set certain rules. The carriage of a dog is carried out directly in the aircraft cabin or in the cargo hold. To do this, the owner must have the appropriate documents and permissions.

Important! When flying on international flights, a passenger with a dog must comply with the rules for importing animals of the country of arrival.

Many states establish strict norms for the weight of an animal that is imported into their territory. Customs services require not only certificates from an international veterinarian, but also a breed certificate.

Rules for transporting dogs on an airplane and in "luggage"

To travel with your pet, you must first obtain permission from the airline from which you purchased the ticket. According to the established rules, no more than 5 animals should be on board the aircraft. It is necessary to notify the company that the passenger is flying with a pet no later than 36 hours before departure.

Note. If a traveler arrives at the airport with a pet without obtaining permission from the air carrier to transport it, he will not be allowed to board the flight.

To transport dogs in the cabin of an aircraft, the following requirements must be met:

  • mandatory accompaniment of a pet by an adult;
  • the weight of the animal should not exceed 8 kg;
  • it must be in a special cage, container (their size should not exceed 1.15 in width, length and height).

The animal should feel comfortable in it, freely lie down or stand up to its full height.

Passengers who carry pets as "hand luggage" are seated in remote places: near emergency exits or restrooms. At the same time, travelers should have a first aid kit with them. At high altitude, many animals experience discomfort and pain.

Animals weighing more than 8 kg travel in the luggage compartment.
To do this, you need to place them in special large containers or cages. Their size must be at least 1.55 m in width, length and height.

The passenger checks in such baggage in a special window. It is necessary to carefully check the correctness of filling out the documents for the container with the dog. It has a barcode on it. On it there is an automatic distribution of luggage. After that, the animal is placed in a special compartment with fixed trays. So it will be much easier for him to transfer the flight.

What is important to know when booking

Initially, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules for transporting animals of the airline in which tickets are purchased. When booking, you must indicate that a dog is traveling with the passenger. At the same time, its weight and dimensions of the container are indicated.

Note. If the weight of the animal is 5-8 kg, you can clarify whether a soft small bag is suitable for transporting it.

You must also indicate the breed of the dog. It is worth considering that many airlines prohibit the transportation of brachycephalic dog breeds. It is better to book a place for a pet in advance, as the number of places on board for them is limited.

Before the flight, the dog must be shown to the veterinarian, who accepts directly at the airport. First you need to clarify the time of its work. You may need to arrive a few hours before departure.

Documents for transporting a dog in Russia

To transport a pet across the territory of the Russian Federation, certain documents will be required. First - veterinary passport. It is filled in by a veterinarian after the primary vaccination.

It contains the following information:

  • breed of dog;
  • her color;
  • nickname;
  • age;
  • Owner's name, address and telephone number;
  • vaccination data.

Your pet must be vaccinated against rabies before flying. This disease is dangerous for humans.

Important! All vaccinations must be done no later than 30 days before departure.

On the basis of the veterinary passport, they issue veterinary certificate of the state sample in the form No. 1(usually this document is called the F1 veterinary certificate). It confirms the absence of dangerous diseases in the animal.

It contains the following information:

  • Name of the owner;
  • route;
  • the name of the pet;
  • his gender and age, breed;
  • vaccination dates;
  • results of verification studies.

This certificate is obtained from the veterinary service.

Important! The validity of the document is 5 days from the date of issue. Therefore, it is received 1-2 days before the flight.

At the airport, the pet undergoes additional veterinary control. The procedure takes 40 minutes. Some air carriers recommend that passengers go through such control a day before departure. In this way, unforeseen situations can be avoided.

Documents for taking a pet abroad

To transport an animal on international flights, you must follow the rules established by the customs service of the country of arrival. Transportation of dogs on an airplane abroad is possible only if they have international veterinary passport. Labels from vaccines that were made to the pet are pasted into it.

Initially draw up veterinary certificate of the state sample. Then it is exchanged for an international veterinary passport at the checkpoint. The document is valid for 90 days.

Note. The certificate of international standard must be kept during the trip. It will also be required when leaving a foreign country.

During the trip, the animal may get lost. Find out information about its owner helps chipping. This procedure, in which an empty capsule with a microchip is injected under the skin of a pet. He was assigned a unique number. It is read by a scanner. By this number, you can easily find out information about the owner of the animal. It is worth considering that microchipping is mandatory when traveling abroad.

Shipping cost

Transportation of an animal in the cabin of an aircraft is paid according to the rules of excess baggage. Only guide dogs can fly for free. As for charter flights, the cost of transporting a pet depends on its weight. It varies between 100-200 euros.

Carry Requirements

The container for transporting the animal must be made of durable plastic. You can use a cage or a soft bag as it. The latter option is possible when transporting a pet in the cabin.

Only one dog can be in one container. It should have special windows for air access.

It has information about the dog on it. When flying abroad, it must be translated into English. The bottom of the container is lined with a soft cloth. An absorbent diaper is placed on top of it.

There must be a collar around the dog's neck. The leash from it is placed at the bottom of the carrier or container. During the flight it is forbidden to fasten the animal. There must be a lock on the door of the container so that the dog does not get out of it on its own.

Preparing an animal for flight

It is forbidden to feed the animal 4 hours before departure. It is also not recommended to do this during the flight. First you need to take a walk with your pet so that he goes to the toilet. It is forbidden to give him sleeping pills and sedatives. They lower the pressure. In combination with jumps in atmospheric pressure, they can cause death.

To transport a dog on an airplane, you must notify the agent at the time of booking or buying a ticket no later than one day before departure.

The rules we provide are valid as of mid-September 2011. If you are going to carry a dog on an S7 aircraft, check with the ticket seller for the validity of these conditions.

Documents required for transporting dogs

For domestic flights and flights to the CIS countries, it is required to present to the veterinary service veterinary passport and veterinary certificate. The veterinary passport must contain a note about rabies vaccine, made not later than one month and not earlier than one year before the flight.

Before departure, the company's employees check the documents and the dog's health, after which the veterinary certificate is stamped, and you receive a special boarding pass that must be presented during check-in.

If the dog is transported outside of Russia and the CIS, the veterinary certificate is exchanged for a veterinary certificate, which is valid for 1-3 days. When exporting a dog abroad, Russian customs requires a certificate stating that the animal does not represent breeding value.

Check in advance the requirements for transporting animals in countries of transit, destination and stopover.

Transportation of dogs in the cabin

In the cabin You can transport animals whose weight does not exceed eight kilograms. No more than two animals can be in the cabin at the same time, so it is advisable to book transportation as early as possible.

In the cabin, the cage with the dog is placed under the seat of the chair in front. Placing a cage or container on the shelves for hand luggage, as well as in the aisles and next to emergency exits is prohibited.
Guide dogs accompanying blind passengers may be located in the rear of the aircraft cabin on and off. To do this, you must present a certificate stating that the dog has undergone special training. During the flight, the animal is placed at the feet of the owner and tied to his chair.

Transportation of dogs in the luggage compartment

A comfortable temperature is maintained in the luggage compartment on board S7 Airlines aircraft, corresponding to the conditions in the passenger cabin.

Large breed dogs are transported in the luggage compartment. In one container there can be no more than three puppies of the same offspring aged no older than six months or two adult dogs whose total weight does not exceed twenty-eight kilograms - provided that they get along well with each other. Large animals are placed in separate cages or containers.

Requirements for containers for transporting dogs

  • During the flight, the animal is in a securely closed plastic container or metal cage with free air access. The dimensions of the container should provide the dog with enough space to stand up, sit down and lie down freely.
  • The bottom of the container (cage) must be covered with waterproof and absorbent material.
  • If the container has wheels, they must be removed or fixed before flying.
  • The size of the container that is taken with you into the cabin of the aircraft, in the sum of three dimensions, should not exceed 115 cm, and its height should not exceed 20 cm.
  • There may be a drinker inside the container or cage. In the event of a flight delay, a container with food is used, which is kept closed inside or outside the cage the rest of the time.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the safety of the animal, provide care and feeding it on the way. You are also responsible for the safety of other passengers and crew members.

During the flight, you must not let the dog out of the container or cage. If animals cause any harm to the aircraft, property or health of crew members and passengers, all losses shall be reimbursed by the owner of the dog.

Dog transportation rates

The free baggage allowance does not apply to dogs. Payment is made according to the excess baggage rate and is calculated regardless of the number of other things based on the weight of the dog together with the cage or container. Guide dogs can be transported free of charge.

You need to start by notifying the airline in advance - at least 36 hours before departure - that you are flying with a four-legged friend.

This is necessary for the carrier to check whether your aircraft is suitable for such purposes., and whether there are still applications to board from other owners.

For example, it is not allowed to carry more than two animals in the cabin at the same time. Moreover, it should not be antagonists, that is, a cat with a dog.

There are also additional requirements. Ural Airlines insist that before the flight, the owner of the pet showed a confirmed (!) consent of the airline to take the pet on board, as well as the permission of the country to or through which he flies.

When booking a carriage, the passenger is obliged to indicate the exact data - who, how much and with what weight he wants to carry.

The second step is to study the list of animals allowed for flight

Not every pet will be able to accompany you on an air journey.

Even in the luggage compartment, not to mention the passenger compartment, many companies do not allow transportation of rodents, arthropods and reptiles. The black list also includes sick and wild animals, birds.

The animal must be accompanied by an adult citizen.

Usually, airlines allow only pets tamed who behave calmly, adequately, obey the owner, have a clean, tidy appearance, do not smell.

For example, Aeroflot to the white list - to ordinary cats, dogs and birds - added more ferrets, meerkats, mini-rabbits, decorative hedgehogs.

A Ural Airlines transports cats, parrots and canaries, dogs.

But they clarify that poultry, as well as ferrets and rodents, are not included in the permitted category. That is, for hamsters and chickens, the path to the passenger cabin of these airlines is closed.

Pobeda Airlines bans kites from flying its planes, rodents, lizards and insects.

UTair agrees to transport only cats and dogs in the cabin and only rooms. In the luggage compartment - any other and more birds.

And the transportation of animals that are not related to indoor animals is possible with this company only as cargo. By the way, UTair undertakes to transport even unaccompanied, but also only in the form of cargo.

The third step is the preparation of the necessary documents

If you are not a visually impaired person and not a dog handler who needs documents confirming their professional and disabled status to transport their dog, you, a simple animal lover, documents are needed only for a pet- that he is healthy and does not pose a sanitary and epidemic danger.

In Russia, it is required that the animal be chipped and vaccinated against rabies, which is done before the chip is installed and one month before the flight.

You may need 2 documents of veterinary control of the Russian Federation- veterinary passport and veterinary certificate, which is issued by the city veterinary station no later than five days before the flight.

The certificate must indicate the entire future route of movement.

A customs union certificate is only required for international flights. It is also issued by the veterinary station, also no later than five days before departure, but is filled out in two languages - in Russian and English.

It must be registered with the border control veterinary service.

Ural Airlines indicate the need to have a certificate of the breeding value of the animal exported abroad.

S7 (or c7) prescribes the accompanying person has a veterinary first aid kit.

UTair, in case your pet is flying cargo, will require:

  • shipper's certificate;
  • permission of the country of import-export-transit (for international transport).

Fourth step - cell preparation

The weight and size of the cage matters. If she, together with her pet, weighs no more than 8 kg, then you can be allowed into the passenger compartment with her. If it is heavier, it will fly without you, along with luggage.

Aeroflot clarifies: with the total weight of your pet and container - from 32 to 50 kg, you need to find out about the possibility of transportation separately. If the total weight is over 50 kg, a separate shipping contract is required.

Ural Airlines allow wicker containers for transportation if the dog and cat weigh less than 3 kilograms. They also clearly defined the size of the container that they can allow to carry in the passenger compartment - 45x35x25 cm to be placed under the seat.

S7 has the required dimensions container carried in the cabin are the same.

UTair allows transportation in the passenger cabin A 10-kilogram cage (total weight) and its size may be slightly larger - up to 55x40x20 cm.

A slight indulgence is also made for a soft carrying bag - it can be slightly higher than indicated. The size of the cage that will fly in the luggage compartment is also clearly discussed - up to 203 cm.

cell requirements

The cell must have:

  • strong lock;
  • waterproof bottom and a good layer of absorbent (not straw!) on the pallet, preventing it from spilling;
  • enough ventilation holes.

These are general requirements. But if the animal is traveling in the luggage compartment, then they are added:

  • the lock should exclude its opening not only by the beast, but also by an outsider;
  • the container needs two handles;
  • it must be durable;
  • if there are wheels, then they must either be removed or firmly fixed;
  • the cage is required to be spacious enough so that the animal in it can comfortably lie down, get up and turn around.

One person in the cabin can take only one cage. But more than one animal can be placed in it - the main thing is that the total weight (together with the weight of the cage) does not exceed 8 kg.

But in the case of the luggage compartment, each person is entitled to an individual container.

What to do before flying:

  1. Train the animal to the container.
  2. Feed and drink him.
  3. When transporting a bird, prepare a dense dark cloth to cover the cage with it during the flight.

Cage, container must not:

  • open during the journey;
  • placed at emergency exits, on seats, on luggage racks, in aisles;
  • travel in business class.

Usually the cage is placed under the seat in front of the chair.

Only the guide dog and the canine service dog fly in the cabin, always without a cage and free of charge, no matter what size they are.

All that is required of them is a muzzle and a collar with a leash, with which she is tied to the owner's chair, at his feet.

Payment for the transport of animals

Pets are not hand luggage and are subject to a charge. or according to the norms of non-standard baggage.

For example, Aeroflot, Ural Airlines and Pobeda pay separately for each animal, not for a cage!

Or you are charged at the excess baggage rate, as in S7, UTair. In this case, proceed from the total weight of the animal and the container. The fee is set per kilogram.

The amount of the fee in both cases depends on the flight and direction. On international flights, the fee is always higher than on domestic ones..

As you can see, the rules of airlines differ in details, the most important of which are the categories of animals allowed on the plane. One thing is obvious - you need to prepare in advance for a flight with a pet.

Payment for excess baggage is charged, in this case, for each section of the route in accordance with the established tariffs.
  • Important! Transportation of heavy baggage (the weight of one piece, which exceeds 32 kg, but not more than 50 kg) and oversized baggage (the size of one piece in the sum of three dimensions exceeds 203 cm) is carried out only upon prior agreement with the carrier.
The exception is guide dogs, which are carried free of charge. They must be placed in the back rows of seats and tied to the owner's chair at his feet. Guide dogs must be muzzled and on a leash.
