In total, flights are currently scheduled from Yekaterinburg to more than 100 destinations, of which more than 50 are international. Flights on them will be operated by 46 airlines.

A feature of the new schedule was an increase in the intensity of flights to popular destinations. This trend affected both domestic routes and international ones. On domestic lines, there is an increase in the number of flights to the Black Sea resorts. For example, up to five flights a day are scheduled to Sochi, and up to two flights a day to Anapa. There is an increase in the number of flights on regional routes - to Samara, Kazan, Ufa, Novy Urengoy and others.

On international routes in the summer season, Türkiye will be in the spotlight. Flights in this direction from Yekaterinburg will be carried out by ten airlines at once on four routes - Antalya, Istanbul, Dalaman and Gazipasa. Instead of Gelendzhik and Heraklion, planes will fly to London and Bangkok, new overseas flights from the regions will appear, and the number of destinations of the Pobeda low-cost airline will increase compared to last year. "Spark" took a closer look at seasonal changes

Anton Moroshkin

All member airlines of the International Air Transport Association divide the year into two seasons. In autumn, the beaches of the Mediterranean and Black Sea resorts become empty, but vacationers rush closer to the equator or, conversely, to the ski slopes of Europe. And along with the tourist flows, the routes of world air carriers are also changing.

The winter season lasts from the last Sunday of October to the end of March, then the summer season begins. This year, the aviation "winter" comes on October 30, and with it the usual winter changes. Aeroflot traditionally stops flights to Gelendzhik, Heraklion and Croatian Split. But Montenegrin Tivat remains on the schedule. After all, Montenegro is famous not only for its beaches; in winter, ski slopes in Zabljak and Kolasin are waiting for guests.

It seems that Sochi has finally established itself as a year-round resort. At least judging by Aeroflot flights. Last winter, the number of aircraft on the Moscow-Adler route was increased from 35 to 42 per week. In the summer there were already 49 of them. And for the winter, the number of aircraft flying to the resort city was decided not to be reduced.

Apparently, the Russians are increasingly relying on domestic tourism. This is also evidenced by the continuous growth of communication between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Last October, Aeroflot added five additional flights a week to its schedule, raising the total number to 112. In the summer, seven more flights between the two capitals were added. And with the transition to a new winter schedule, it was decided to immediately add 21 aircraft per week. Passengers flying from Moscow to Yekaterinburg and Tyumen, winter, too, apparently, does not stop. It was decided not to cancel the additional flights introduced in the summer in the fall.

More and more cities appear in the schedule grid. For example, Saratov. A year ago, Saratov-Central Airport only received permission to receive Superjets. The issue of launching regular Aeroflot flights was then actively discussed. In this summer and winter schedule, the Moscow-Saratov flight is already on. In the coming season, Aeroflot will open daily Sochi-Simferopol flights. Flights will begin on January 21, 2017.

Aeroflot is not planning new foreign routes from Moscow this winter, but it is increasing the number of aircraft on existing routes. For example, flights to Valencia, Alicante and Lyon were launched this summer. All of them are kept in the winter schedule, and it was decided to make the connection with Lyon more intensive, bringing the number of flights to seven a week.

Flights to Istanbul, after relations with Turkey deteriorated, were reduced, but this winter they are returning at the same volume - 21 per week. The resorts of Southeast Asia are invariably popular in winter. For the second winter in a row, Aeroflot has increased the number of flights to Hanoi. Last year - from four to five a week, this year - up to seven. Doubling, from 7 to 14 per week, the number of aircraft flying to Bangkok. As usual, there will be more flights to Miami during the winter season.

But the absolute record holder of the new schedule is the Moscow-London direction. It was decided to add 14 additional flights to the already existing 18 flights a week. Half of them will fly from Sheremetyevo to Heathrow. The other half goes to Gatwick. Aeroflot for the first time masters the second airport of the British capital. Convenient daytime flights will be carried out by aircraft of the A320 family.

The Rossiya subsidiary airline traditionally stops flying from St. Petersburg to Antalya and Burgas for the winter, but includes Geneva in its schedule. This winter, Petersburgers will generally become closer to Europe. Daily flights are scheduled from the northern capital to Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Vienna.

Flights from regions abroad seem to be a new trend for the entire Aeroflot Group. On June 17, the national carrier itself launched the first foreign flight from the regional airport: Kazan - Frankfurt. Airbus 320 flies from the capital of Tatarstan to one of the main European air hubs on Mondays and Fridays. It was decided to extend the flights for the winter season.

In general, if we compare the current winter schedule with last year, it was Pobeda that showed the greatest progress in the entire Aeroflot Group.

Keeps up with the trend "Victory". The domestic low-cost airline launches two international flights from Rostov-on-Don at once: to Baku and Tbilisi. And flights to Almaty are opened from Samara this winter season. Aeroflot began to strengthen air communication with Kazakhstan back in the summer by launching six new flights from Moscow at once: to Aktau, Aktobe, Almaty, Astana, Atyrau and Shymkent. Now the low-cost airline has also joined this process of rapprochement between the two countries.

If we compare the current winter schedule with last year, it is Pobeda that showed great progress in the Aeroflot Group. A year ago, it had a little more than 30 destinations in its route grid. In the current winter schedule, the airline has planned to increase this figure by a quarter.

In addition to Moscow Vnukovo, the Russian low-cost airline provides regional flights from St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Rostov, Samara and Makhachkala. You can buy Pobeda tickets to Milan via Bergamo Airport, and to Vienna via Bratislava, as well as to Cologne and Memmingen, to Girona, to Larnaca. And from this autumn - also to the three capitals of the former Soviet republics.

The internal Russian route network of the low-cost carrier has also grown noticeably over the year. Pobeda now flies from Moscow to Chelyabinsk and Naberezhnye Chelny, from St. Petersburg to Kirov, Volgograd, Vladikavkaz and Nalchik, from Yekaterinburg to Krasnoyarsk.

New flights from Aeroflot and its subsidiaries appear throughout the year. But switching to a winter or, conversely, summer schedule is the best time to take stock and compare current results with last year. In the winter of 2015-2016, the national carrier flew to 125 destinations, and together with its subsidiaries, Aeroflot had 211 non-recurring routes. This winter season, there will be 130 own flights, and 215 together with subsidiaries. Progress is evident.

Bangkok

14 flights per week

Thailand is a favorite country for Russians who want to move from winter to summer. When it's warm in Russia, it's the rainy season and there's nothing to do. But from the end of October to the end of March - just at the time of the winter schedule - the weather is the most comfortable. You can swim in the sea and go on a trip to the jungle. Bangkok, however, is not only the air gate of Thailand, but also a city that is interesting in itself. Klong canals, Buddhist temples, a large palace - having arrived from winter Moscow, you can spend several days here with great interest.

Baku

4 flights a week from Rostov-on-Don with Pobeda airline

You can go to the capital of Azerbaijan even in February: it doesn’t get very cold here. Of course, the most atmospheric place is the medieval district of Icheri Sheher, widely known for the film "The Diamond Arm". Most of the ancient monuments are concentrated on its crooked streets. The famous Maiden's Tower is also nearby. But there are plenty of other attractions in Baku. The city has a charming seaside boulevard, many monuments of Art Nouveau of the beginning of the century and the world's first Carpet Museum.

Sochi

49 flights per week

A lot of effort has been spent to turn the seaside Sochi into a place of year-round recreation, but now the goal has been achieved. Krasnaya Polyana, with its slopes famous for the Olympics, has become the country's main ski resort. And the service there is quite world-class. In Sochi itself, winter tourists will certainly be attracted by the Olympic Park with its famous sports facilities. The oceanarium, dolphinarium and Riviera Park are also now open all year round. Snow on the slopes lies all the time of the Aeroflot winter schedule. But experts say that the best skiing is in February - March.

London

32 flights per week

Summer is considered the high tourist season in London, so winter is a rare chance to see the main sights without crowds of Chinese tourists. There are no severe colds here, museums are open all year round, and pubs are even more comfortable when it is winter or late autumn outside. In December, there are Christmas markets on the streets of the British capital. On New Year's Eve, the sales season begins. But on Christmas itself, going to London is usually not advised. Londoners are leaving these days and everything is closed.
